Abstract

This study aims to analyze community development communication strategies to improve the practice of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in Ciherang Village, Karangtengah District, Cianjur Regency. Clean and healthy living behavior is a crucial aspect of public health, yet its implementation often faces challenges due to lack of understanding and ingrained habits in the community. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with community leaders, health workers, and residents involved in PHBS improvement programs. Additionally, direct observation was conducted to understand the extent to which the community participates in the existing programs. The findings indicate that communication strategies used involve educational approaches through health counseling, the use of local media such as pamphlets and posters, and the involvement of community leaders in delivering health messages. However, despite significant efforts, the main challenge in improving clean and healthy living behaviors is the low awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and regular health practices. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen health messages through more effective and sustainable communication channels.
